Nekojiru-sou (Cat Soup) Anime.

3:33:00 PM
So, This Anime Was Interesting To Say The Least...

My brother put my on to an experimental anime from 2001 the other day, Nekojiru-sou (Cat Soup) directed by Tatsuo Satō. The film was inspired by the work of manga artist Nekojiru. I haven't watched an anime film in a while, but I predict myself entering an anime kick this month. Anyway, I recommend you all open your minds and watch this movie.

The plot is basically, Nyatta goes on a trippy, psychedelic journey with his sister in order to save her soul. Nyatta's older sister Nyāko accidentally drowns in a bathtub and is found dead. Nyatta see's his sister leaving the house with the reaper and tries to rip Nyāko away from it. Instead,  Nyāko splits in two leaving the reaper with half of her soul while her brother runs away with the other half. Pretty freaking crazy right? The reaper sends a clue about a flower they must search for in order to get back the missing half-soul... AND THAT'S WHERE THE JOUREY BEGINS.

I really loved the anime. Its tragic but at the same time very beautiful and touching. I found it had a lot of cryptic messages and really left me pondering. It's also trippy as hell! After watching it I saw comments around the web comparing the movie to "being on the ultimate high" because it was such a mind-bending, surreal journey. I found it utterly refreshing. Most of it seemed like something from a child's warped imagination to me... but it was perfect.

I also learned that Nekojiru who originally created the cat character in her manga series was a mentally ill traumatized woman who committed suicide at age 31 in 1998. The reasons for her suicide were unclear, a note was never found.

Anyways, If you have about 30 minutes to spare you can watch it below.

Awesome Comic Sunglasses “Sun-Staches”.

10:10:00 PM
Maybe They're Not For Everyday But They're Hella Cool.

 (Harley Quinn)

I read about these "Sun-Staches" on CBR and couldn't help but agree, I'm not sure why the name? haha. They have nothing to do with mustaches which is where my mind immediately wanders with the name. These sunglasses look like they're mainly for style and stunting around which makes me wonder how effective they actually are at blocking the sun.

Anyways, these DC Comics Themed Sunglasses are pretty rad. I'd rock a pair regardless. They're exaggerated and the ideal product for any nerdy/geeky fashionista. The only ones I can really see being worn on the regular perhaps are the Catwoman pair. The rest would be cool for cosplay purposes at Comic Cons or Gamer conventions.

(Batman)

(The Joker)

 (Catwoman)

You can head over HERE and pre-order a pair which are estimated to be released this August 2015 for a very cool $9.99 right now.

Bar Luce: Wes Anderson Designs A Cafe In Milan And It's Divine.

3:01:00 PM
A Magical, Whimsical Place To Drink Your Coffee In...

I took to Instagram the other day to search #BarLuce. Bar Luce is an an Italian cafe that film maker and screen writer Wes Anderson helped design. The cafe opened Saturday in Milan's Fondazione Prada building. The photos I saw were Ah-MAZ-ing. You may recognize Wes Anderson's interior design style from movies such as "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and "The Royal Tenenbaums".

Wes Anderson in known for his whimsical and enchanting aesthetic which you can definitely see come to like in Bar Luce. It's almost as if you're walking in a scene from one of his movies. I'm pretty obsessed with the color palette of pretty pastels, pinks, blues and greens mainly. The retro 1950's-1960's vibe the design captures also has me smitten.

When speaking about the design, you can read on the Bar Luce site Anderson say's the following:

"There is no ideal angle for this space. It is for real life, and ought to have numerous good spots for eating, drinking, talking, reading, etc. While I do think it would make a pretty good movie set, I think it would be an even better place to write a movie. I tried to make it a bar I would want to spend my own non-fictional afternoons in."

How rad is this Zissou pinball machine!?

Well let me tell you guys something! I'm feeling very unfortunate I don't live in Milan right about now. I would spend tons and tons of time in this spellbinding cafe if it was close by... it seems like an inspirational, creative hub.

Suicide Squad Movie First Look Cast Photo Revealed.

11:28:00 PM
The Suicide Squad Is Here Kiddies!

David Ayer has blessed us with this goodie tweet. DC comics must be tight Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron is doing so good that they had to hit us with something.

Well this is an interesting group photo ain't it?!  I love how Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is totally standing out. She's definitely in character in this photo. Here we see Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara (kneeling) as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.

I think so far so good. Any thoughts? I'm even liking Cara Delevingne as Enchantress. I'm a fan of miss Delevingne on the fashion runways so hopefully she impresses me here too.

Thank goodness I heard that the Jared Leto tattooed Joker look isn't going down. Honestly, that shit looked terrible with those tattoos. Plus I really like Jared Leto so I don't want to be unhappy with the characters look.

Jurassic Park, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice & Fantastic Four.

1:16:00 PM
Holy Trailers Batman!

There's been some great movie trailers dropping this past week or so. If you haven't checked them out (because you live on outer space or something) I wanted to post them here for you. So excited for Jurassic Park, Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. I'm still feeling pretty iffy about Fantastic Four... just not convinced yet.

So many comic book based movies coming out soon and Jurassic Park is such a classic... looks like we have a good few months ahead of us in the film department.

Jurassic Park

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Fantastic Four.

Which one of these are you looking forward to the most?

Netflix Favorites For April 2015.

11:29:00 PM
Because everyone needs a movie night...

I was roaming Netflix the other day and bumped into some pretty awesome movies that brought back great memories... you know, the kind of film you just always remember.

Anyway I thought I'd make a short list of some recommendations I had for this month just in case you haven't watched them already.

1) The Devil's Rejects - House of 1,000 Corpse to be continued... and then you have THIS. I'm actually a fan of most Rob Zombie Films (some are even too intense for me). If sick, twisted and dark horror is something you're into, than this is for you! Plus who doesn't love lil ol' Sheri Moon Zombie as 'Baby'? "Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees, look at these!"

 2) Bebe's Kids- When I was younger I watched this movie time after time after time. Robin Falls in love with Jamika but he was to deal with her crazy ass 4 kids. It's a really cute classic. You have to watch this movie at least once in your life. Bebe's kids don't die, they multiply!

3)Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood- Hahaha this movie is just too much. I believe this was the Waynes Brothers first parody movie. If you have even one ounce of 'Hood' in you, street smarts, or just enjoy a urban comedy that makes fun of gangs and racial statistics, than this is for you. "Recruiter: Well, I see your hobbies include "drinkin', smokin' weed, and all types of ill shit."

4)Natural Born Killers- Ummm can you say relationship goals? One of my favorites from Quentin Tarantino. But really, Mickey and Mallory Knox are crazy twisted in love and take on the road and a life of crime. This movie is magic. "You know the only thing that kills the demon... is love".

5)Cujo- Don't let the Netflix rating fool you. This is a cult classic based on a Stephen King novel. Imagine your cute lil doggy, you know, mans best friend and all going bat-shit crazy? I never thought I could be scared of a dog. "Terror has a new name".

6)Pulp Fiction- Another work of art by Quentin Tarantino. Also, the movie that first got me to love Uma Thurman. It's like a game of connect the dots all the way through. "And you will know I AM THE LORD when I lay my vengeance upon you"

 7) Cool World- Even though I still like Who Framed Roger Rabbit more... Cool World is still a must see just because. Reasons I can't explain... you just have to watch it once in your lifetime. It's Brad Pitt and cartoons, what do you have to lose. Plus Holli Would voiced by Kim Basinger is a total fox. Sneaky and hot.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this short list and find something you'll enjoy in it. Toodles!

New Marvel's Ant-Man - Trailer 1

8:19:00 AM
Yay Monday Means New Trailer...Today At Least!

Marvel has just dropped it's first full length Ant-Man movie trailer starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang. The trailer looks pretty promising for the comic book movie.

It's cool to see Paul Rudd in this kind of role as apposed to so much comedy. You get to see him shrink to ant size and have a short and sweet conversation with an Ant. The trailer includes a quick backstory, some humor, a face off, he even gets punch by a chick! Ch-ch-ch- Check it out.

The Ant-Man film is set to be in theaters July 17th.

What do you guys think so far?

Happy 20th Anniversary to Disney's 'A Goofy Movie'.

8:27:00 PM
My brother let me know today that I was getting pretty old...

My brother let me know that he read via Entertainment Weekly that today is Disney's 'A Goofy Movie' 20th anniversary.

I have a true weak spot for this animated movie... I'm not sure why. What I will tell you is that it's my second favorite Disney movie after 'The Lion King(That's right! Beat out all of the Disney Princesses). Till this day I think this movie was terribly over looked. If you haven't seen it, go watch it NOW!

Max was moody and like many of us embarrassed by his dad, Goofy. They went through trial and tribulations and all sorts of ups and downs/father son fights. The movie had some really great emotional scenes going on. At the end I think Max realized what was important and realized his dad loved him and would do anything for him. Goofy even helped Max catch the affection of his mega crush and ultra Disney babe Roxanne.

One of the things I think has been over looked the most in A Goofy Movie is that spectacular songs. Tevin Campbell voiced 'Powerline' which was Max's and all of his friends super cool music idol. He was super smooth, had movies like Michael Jackson and an awesome futuristic style.

He also sang amazing songs with fantastic lyrics like "Eye 2 Eye' and "Stand Out". I think Eye 2 Eye might be one of my favorite songs in like as a matter of fact. The lyrics are so romantic and inspiring and the song has so much energy. It's absolutely fantastic.

Lyrics from Eye 2 Eye and the great 'Perfect Cast' dance Goofy and Max created. A truly heart warming movie.

If you're a good friend you'll pay The Goofy Movie Forward. It's so ridiculously underrated, I've talked to so many people about this. Tell you're friends about them or even better do something that I've done, buy them the DVD and give it to them!

Below is my favorite song from the movie Eye 2 Eye. Goofy and Max crash PowerLine's concert and it's pretty epic. Enjoy!

Joe Simko's 'Cereal Killers' Card Sheet Winner!

10:37:00 PM
This is SO AWESOME!

Remember when I went to the Las Vegas Super Toy Con a few weeks back? Well, I entered a giveaway for a Joe Simko's 'Cereal Killers' Series 1 uncut card sheet and won! I was so very excited because I'm one of those people who really never win anything. Series 1 is sold out, so other than getting it on ebay, this was the only way to get my hands on one.

I love these cards because they're so much fun and they're for people like me, obsessed with pop culture. Joe Simko takes classic cereal boxes, classic serial killers, cereal box characters, classic movie characters and creates the best pictures and titles for the images of the boxes. Some of my favorite titles are "Clockwork Porridge", "Children Of The Corn Flakes", "Fiber The 13th", "Chucky Harms" and much more.

In the photos below, you're going to see the leading men of some of your favorite horror films. My favorite cards are the ones channeling classic films like 'A Clockwork Orange', 'Halloween/Michael Myers', 'Chucky', 'Friday The 13th', 'Terminator', and more.

Thanks so much to the people over at Wax Eye, make sure to check them out on Facebook HERE. Shout out to the Las Vegas Super Toy Con too! Fun times. You can check them out on Facebook HERE

Pride and Prejudice Zombies Coming At Ya February 2016.

1:10:00 PM
Pretty much anything gets zombified now-a-days right?

All you literature and zombie buffs are going to love this! Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is being zombified and will be hitting theaters February 2016.Well it's actually an adaptation from Seth Grahame-Smith’s 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' parody from 2009. It's a mashup combining Jane Austen's classic novel (1813) and well... ZOMBIES. It will be directed by Burr Steers.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will star Lily James as Elizabeth, Bella Heathcote as Jane, Ellie Bamber as Lydia, Millie Brady as Mary, Suki Waterhouse and more.

The book is about a woman’s journey towards love and then BOOM! There's an outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers! Sounds dreamy doesn't it? I'm really looking forward to this. I feel like it's going to be awesome and has a great cast.

What do you guys think?

New Photos from Terminator Genisys.

10:09:00 AM
I'll Be Back.

I bumped into these photos from the new Terminator Genisys movie (via Coming Soon). They're from the May issue of Empire magazine. I'm excited to see the movie which hit's theaters May 1st 2015, but these photos don't really move me at all... they seem a bit too staged maybe?

The movie stars Emilia Clarke (Sarah Conner), Jai Courtney(Kyle Reese) , Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator), and J.K. Simmons (Detective O'Brien).

I'd like to see something a little more raw and cutting edge for behind the scenes photos.

"After finding himself in a new time-line, Kyle Reese teams up with John Connor's mother Sarah and an aging terminator to try and stop the one thing that the future fears, "Judgement Day"."

Nevertheless I'm still looking forward to check the film out. What are your thoughts?

Mortal Kombat X: Jason Voorhees Reveal.

12:58:00 PM
Who Doesn't Love A Horror Classic?

I used to love fighting video games... I still do really. I don't have much time to play them anymore because of moving around and not having the game console at the moment. However, I still get really excited when I see things like THIS.

I think perhaps if I were to name my top 3 killers from classic horror movies that used to scare the shit out of me when I was a little girl it would be in the order of...

1)Freddy Krueger
2)Michael Myers
3)Jason Voorhees

3 isn't a terrible place to be... it's like bronze right? Anyway, to be frank... 2 and 3 are pretty much 50/50. I think Michael Myers got bumped up about one percent because I really enjoyed the first Rob Zombie remake for 'Halloween' (2007)... the second one... ehhhhh...(Love you Rob!).

My friend Dane knows about my love for these killers and shared this Mortal Kombat X: Jason Voorhees Reveal on my Facebook wall. Looks pretty sick right? Get ready to see bodies drop at Camp Crystal Lake. Video game x Horror Movie fans rejoice! I can tell this is going to be a goodie.
