Disney XD To Reboot ‘Ducktales’ Animated Series For 2017!

12:01:00 PM
When I was younger, This is all I wanted to do. I carried this image in my head for a very long time...

I mean seriously, Don't act like you didn't want to! It looks like the funnest thing in the world.

Take me back to Duckburg!

I used to love watching Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck in the afternoons on Disney. They were so funny and adorable! It was truly a great animated series, after all let's not forget the fact it is a Emmy winner.
Imagine my excitement when I learned Disney XD was revisiting this series. It's slated to launch in 2017 so get excited!

The series will pretty much have the same story line as before. It will follow around Scrooge McDuck, and his super curious, trouble making grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie. Other familiar characters are expected to re-visit the series as well such as Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, and the Beagle Boys.

Are you ready for this crew again?

The only thing that can put the cherry on top of everything for me is if they were to keep the theme song! (You all know how I feel about my theme songs).

Lucha Libre With Manuela Frey For Dazed And Confused.

4:59:00 PM
A hot model posing in a Lucha Libre mask... Don't mind if we do!

Though I'm sure she doesn't have as much street cred as "El Santo" or "Blue Demon" (I kid, I kid) I must say Manuela Frey is looking pretty bad ass in "Wrestle Mania" for Dazed & Confused Spring 2015, photographed by the talented Richard Burbridge.

I'm going to let all you Ladies and gents out there take a breath and recover from the hot, bloody, sexy, detailed images you're about to see.

Anyways, I'm loving these luchador mask. The black, grey and red color combo is sick! Not to mention all the details like the rhinestones, textures and feather lashes. Funny that Jean Paul Gaultier's wrestling name was "El Niño Terrible" (The Terrible Kid) right? I'm glad he went ahead and added this wrestler edge to his fashion story.

Kelly Sue DeConnick 'Captain Marvel' Swag At WeLoveFine.

11:43:00 AM
Hey Y'all

Check out this fresh 'Captain Marvel' swag at WeLoveFine.com. There's some good stuff to pick from here, below are my favorites. The Collection was curated by the awesome writer Kelly Sue DeConnick.

 A tough cookie.

"In honor of Carol Danvers, Helen Cobb, Jessica Drew and all the amazing women of CAPTAIN MARVEL, Kelly Sue DeConnick will donate her curation commission to the Girls' Leadership Institute, to help foster and give voice to the heroines of tomorrow.

Folks want to blame someone for gals like us. “Her daddy was unkind” or “some fella broke her heart”…
Hogwash. You and me’ve always been like this. Always a little removed. Always… Dreaming.
Of higher, further, faster…More. Always more.

We came into this world spittin’ mad, running full bore… To or from what, I ain’t never been able to tell.
Over the years, I’ve come to think of these traits as the shared attributes of a chosen people. The lord put us here to punch holes in the sky.

And when a soul is born with that kind of purpose, it’ll damn sure find a way.

We’re gonna get where we’re going, you and me. Death and indignity be damned. We’ll get there, and we will be the stars we were always meant to be."

— Helen Cobb's letter to Captain Marvel
(Captain Marvel #1)

This"What Would Captain Marvel Do?" tee with the dinosaur is sick! It's my favorite. She looks so bad-ass and ready to take on anything.

Motivation tee right here!

I love the message this gives young girls "Every Little Girl Flies". It's a great gift really. Remember also to encourage your children to start reading at an early age. I think comics are a great route (age appropriate of course). Every little girl has magical powers inside of her she needs to let shine and guess what? Maybe she'll grow up and pursue the comic-book industry and be an awesome writer like Kelly Sue DeConnick ;-)

Stan Lee's Spider-Man Sketch Hangs Out With An 8-Year Old In Harlem.

11:25:00 AM
Stan Lee drew a special request Spider-Man for a child with autism.

Photo via NY Times

According to the New York Times, 8 year old Jamel Hunter received a very special package. In the package was a picture frame of a penciled sketch of a stick figure, Spider-Man! Above the figure there is a word bubble that says “Hi Jamel.”

Jamel has had a tough life for a young boy. His mother suffered from Blount’s disease which later caused her to move around in a motorized wheelchair. She often worked different jobs to get by. Jamel himself didn't even speak until he was in pre-school. Jamel then began working with the Kennedy Child Study Center which helps children with intellectual disabilities.

Jamel loves Spiderman and his 8th birthday was approaching (which was Spiderman themed)....

California native Corky Hale read an article about Jamel in the paper and must have felt very touched. Hale just so happens to be neighbors with... wait for it... STAN LEE. She went to him with a special request and he was happy to do it apparently.

“This was a unique experience,” “Corky called me and said there was a little boy,”  “She wanted a sketch, so I did one.”

Stan Lee, 92, was quick to point out that was one of the Spider-Man creators but he didn’t draw the comics. “I’m not known as an artist, which is lucky for the world,”.

How very awesome of Stan Lee to fulfill Corky's request for 8 year old Jamel. Now there is a happy boy with his Spiderman sketch resting somewhere in Harlem.

Friday Horror: Sleepaway Camp.

1:36:00 PM
What The F*ck Did I Just Watch?

I just saw the horror movie Sleepaway Camp (1983) for the first time ever last night directed by Robert Hiltzik. First off, I don't want to give away too much about the movie... but the ending/last scene is EVERYTHING. It makes the whole movie worth it and it's makes you re-think the whole movie in a matter of seconds.

At first I thought, this is just another one of your slasher camp movies from the 80s probably trying to bite off the whole 'Friday The 13th' vibe. Seems like making horror movies in the 80s was a quick way to make a buck, but this is just... different?

Felissa Rose gave an excellent performance as Angela... but the whole movie was fucking bizarre (I just can't seem to stop saying it). Seriously, I really mean bizarre.  You're either going to love it or hate it. To make a long story short... Camp Arawak is a place you don't want to be. Before I keep ranting, let me give you a brief summary via IMDB.

"Slightly traumatized and painfully shy Angela Baker is sent away to summer camp with her cousin. Not long after Angela's arrival, things start to go horribly wrong for anyone with sinister or less than honorable intentions."

You may think this movie sounds utterly predictable but it's not, I promise. It's an 80s horror flick with a massive twist unlike any I've seen.

Funny how horror movies in the 80s have similar qualities right? Massive cursing from teenagers, story lines about sexual repression/sexual molestation and harasment, being picked on and being the outsider, terrible parent or family members who fuck up your whole brain and make you want to wreak havoc, the worst camp counselors in the world... This were all qualities seen time after time in horror movies in the 80's... You don't really see them displayed the same way in movies now-a-days...

I think everyone should see this movie 100%. Even if you hate it, it's a life experience. That last scene is definitely the pay off, but you have to sit through the whole thing to feel rewarded. The last scene is so horrific, so way out of left field that you never see it coming.

It's some scary shit, you can watch the movie in it's entirety on YouTube HERE

After you've seen this movie and have taken a moment to reflect on the madness, you can check out this rad podcast with Paul Scheer, June Diane Raphael, Jason Mantzoukas "Sleepaway Camp - How did this get made?". They literally tear the movie apart and do a very in depth analysis.

Enjoy kids, Let me know how it goes.

Minion Art By Dane Smith.

10:49:00 AM
I don't know if it's because the Minion movie is dropping this Summer...

But my friend Dane (BKDane) AKA Animator extraordinaire, has been Minion-izing a bunch of his friends and last night he Minion-ized me!

Original Photo

Pretty freaken sweet right?

I think it's awesome how he takes the smallest details from his friends photos, whether it be what they're wearing, an activity they're doing, their hair, their posture... he just takes the smallest little detail and translates them over to these Minions with successful results. Basically, he has a really good artistic eye for this sort of stuff and I must say the end results are very enjoyable to look at. Also, lets be real, who doesn't love a minion? They captivated our hearts in 'Despicable Me', I wish they were real! I would have at least 2 of them rolling with me at all times! Minion art is genius!

Here are a few of Dane's other friends he's Minion-ized for your viewing pleasure:

Make sure to check out Dane's Instagram and Facebook to see more daily sketches and get inspired. He doesn't only do Minions, he sketches all sorts of cool stuff.
