TGI-Fridays with Full House.

2:34:00 PM
Man, those Friday TV line-ups back in the day sure used to be fun to watch...

Who doesn't miss the Tanners? Michelle, DJ, Stephanie, Danny, Uncle Jesse, Joey, even ol' Kimmy Gibbler. Anyway, on behalf of myself and a bunch of Full House gifs... Have a nice, fun, fat weekend. Dance your ass off a little bit too while you're at it couch potato (at least in between commercials).

Pammy Cakes Boutique Throwback.

1:34:00 PM
A while back I did a photoshoot with Pammy Cakes Boutique. A brand created by a friend of mine Pamela Jackson. The clothing line is inspired by Lolita, Gyaru, Mori, Kawaii, Fairy Kei Fashion and basically Japanese street style.

Below is a photo I dug up from the archives that I posted on instagram today. I'm wearing a very cute "Lolita, Come Out and Play" T-shirt and a pretty ruffled skirt from the collection. I am also channeling my inner Gloomy Bear ;-)

Fun times people, fun times.

Throwback to Sacha Goldberger 'Super Flemish'.

12:46:00 PM
Ok so I know this isn't really a "Throwback" (Dr. Evil Fingers) but I just started this blog recently and was looking for any excuse to feature French Photographers Sacha Goldberger's 'Super Flemish' series.

Goldberger took some fictitious pop culture icons such as superheros, fairytale characters and animals then photographed them as 16th century Flemish-style paintings. They wore their traditional outfits but with old-fashioned twists like ruffled collars and shirts with puffy sleeves. Over 100 people worked on the photos from this series, including 60 models, five costume designers and two digital editors.

Below be prepared to see some of your favorites, Iron Man, Wonder Woman, Batman, Snow White, Darth Vader, The Hulk, Spiderman and more.

Women Wednesday: Vintage Film Posters.

1:33:00 PM
I used to go to conventions and always see these awesome vintage film posters or if you want to be fancy "Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Cards".  I always coveted them and still can't figure out exactly why... Some of them are very exploiting and trashy. Most of the ones I'm a fan of are horror, sci-fi, erotic, grindhouse and from the 1920s-1980s.

I'll be featuring a few of them weekly. Enjoy!

Barbarella 1968

Female Animal (La mujer del gato) (1970, Italy / Spain)

How Sweet It Is! (1978, USA)

Hungry Wives (aka Season of the Witch) (1972, USA)

Over-Exposed (1956)

The Photo of a Woman with a Boar (Fotografija ar sievieti un mezakuili) (1987, Soviet Union / Latvia)

The Price of Flesh (Détournement de mineures) (1959, France)

The Rogue (1971)

Cinderella 2000 ( 2001, USA)

12:11:00 PM
20th Century Fox dropped the Fantastic Four "teaser trailer" today. Check it out below....

From my experience teasers/trailers usually feature the best parts of a film and I'm not too convinced this is going to be so great by seeing this. Hopefully they'll drop another trailer soon. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.

Top Cast
Miles Teller - Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic
Kate Mara - Sue Storm / The Invisible Woman
Michael B. Jordan - Johnny Storm / The Human Torch
Toby Kebbell - Victor Domashev
Jamie Bell - Ben Grimm / The Thing

What do you guys think?

Coach X Gary Baseman 2015 Spring Collection Video.

12:18:00 PM
Check out the video for Coach X Gary Baseman's Spring 2015 collection.

"Stuart Vevers’ Spring 2015 collection is a journey across America inspired by vintage road-trip cinema and West Coast subcultures of music, skate and surf. The collection evokes what Vevers has described as “a sense of everydayness, twisted.” Featuring darkly playful creatures from Los Angeles artist Gary Baseman and a palette inspired by the eerie colors of the golden hour before sundown, the collection was filmed in a dreamlike rain shower on the streets of Ditmas Park in Brooklyn, New York."

If you're like me you're going to look very closely and try to find all the Gary Baseman characters... Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these pieces... The purses I like with Baseman's character are anywhere from 650-700 dollars. Check out the collection here

The video had a very cool, ethereal, trippy vibe, I could dig it...

Monday Theme Song: Freakazoid.

12:36:00 AM
Every Monday I like to start my week with a positive up-beat tune. Sometimes it's a regular 'ol song but most times, I like to dig into my childhood and pick a theme song from a show I enjoyed. It takes me back and lets me relive a specific moment in life... when there wasn't so much stress and issues.

I like to carry to picture in my head for the rest of the week...

This week's theme is from Steven Spielberg Presents: Freakazoid.

I'm surprised non of us have been zapped to cyberspace yet... (or have we?)

Freakazoid Theme Song Lyrics
Super-teen extraordinaire
Freakazoid! Freakazoid!
Runs around in underwear
Freakazoid! Freakazoid!

Rescues Washington D.C.
Freakazoid! Freakazoid!
Unless something better's on TV
Freakazoid! Freakazoid!

His brain's overloading
It has a chocolate coating
Textbook case for Sigmund Freud
Freakazoid! Freakazoid!

Check out Dexter Douglas
Nerd computer ace
Went surfing on the internet
And was zapped to cyberspace
He turned into the Freakazoid
He's strong and super-quick
He drives the villains crazy
'Cause he's a lunatic

His home base is the Freakalair
Freakazoid! Fricassee!
Floyd the Barber cuts his hair
Freakazoid! Chimpanzee!
Rides around in the Freakmobile
Freakazoid! Freakazoo!
Hopes to make a movie deal
Freaka me! Freaka you!

He's here to save the nation
So stay tuned to this station
If not, we'll be unemployed
Freakazoid! Freakazoid!
Freakazoid!!!

Wasabi Art Makes Sushi More Fun To Eat By Tamashiro Jon.

2:42:00 PM
Talk about Sushi Porn.

While roaming through my instagram feed, I saw the good people over at Tokidoki featured a wasabi Bastardino character and it was freaking adorable! I was very impressed by the detail in the wasabi art, beautiful food art really. They linked the photo back to Tamashiro Jon's profile. He is currently a Chef at M Life Nightclub in Hawaii.

After a little instagram stalking on his profile, I was absolutely delighted to see all of the cute characters he's been creating. Characters from Disney, Sanrio, Tokidoki, and more. I can only hope to make my way down to Hawaii one day and see one of his creations in person (Kawaii!).

As someone who really enjoys eating out, It's not always 100 percent about the food but also about the way everything is displayed. When you see something beautiful on a dish it immediately opens up your appetite before even tasting the food, I suspect this is something chef Tamashiro is very good at. I Seeing these characters in person would leave me with an absolute smile on my face.

Below see some of Tamashiro Jon's creations.

Ted

Pusheen The Cat

Jack Skellington from The Nightmare Before Christmas

Stitch from Lilo and Stitch

Good Luck Bear from the Carebears.

Doraemon

Keroppi

Yoshi from Super Mario Bros

Domo

If you're in Hawaii make sure to stop by M Life Nightclub and experience Tamashiro Jon's work in person. If you can't make it out, live vicariously through his Instagram @meestaaroha.
